Core Strength at Home

Strength being the ability exert force, and so core strength would be the ability for the core to exert force.

As much as these exercises might involve the ‘core‘ muscles, it can be important for the core to have the ability to transmit force from the lower to upper body.

Therefore, working the core in (somewhat) isolation can be useful, but its important to work the core during exercises like squats, deadlift and presses.
